Recliner and Chair
A recliner is typically an armchair that lays back when the person in it lowers the back and raises the footrest (the surface the legs rest on when the chair is reclined). Some models both recline and work as lifts for people who have difficulty getting up from their chairs. Some recliners are "lay-flat", which means they allow the occupant to lay nearly supine for sleeping. Wall hugger recliners only recline forward via the use of a gliding mechanism that pushes the bottom half of the recliner forward so the recliner doesn't get closer to the wall, which can be a great space saver. In addition, some models offer heat, massage, and/or vibration.
